Solar Thermal - for heating hot water

Solar hot water is the most widely used domestic renewable energy system in the U.K. and can save you up to 70% of your hot water needs.

Installation does not cause major disruption and planning permission will only apply for Listed Buildings, AONB, buildings in Conservation Areas and World Heritage sites. Once installed the system should require little or no maintenance.
Generally there are two types of thermal systems: evacuated tubes, or flat plates, which act as collectors of sunlight. Collectors are normally fitted to the roof and face south to maximise the available sunlight.

A heat transfer system uses the collected heat to heat the water, which is then pumped to your hot water storage unit.
